Biography:
John Dodds has been the head coach of the girl’s ice hockey program at Hanover High School since 2005. A native of Hanover, Dodds, began playing in the Hanover Youth Hockey Association. He played 3 years at Hanover High and as a captain of the 1973 team helped lead them to the State Championship and a semi-final appearance in the New England Championship. Dodds’ coaching experience spans 30 years and includes coaching at all levels of Hanover Youth Hockey from Learn to Play to Midgets. Under John’s direction, the girls program at Hanover High School, has earned respect from the New England hockey community and has had a remarkable history of success both on and off the ice. The environment and culture of the program has had positive impacts on many girls over the years. Dodds was inducted into the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Hall of Fame in 2016. John and his wife Patti reside in Hanover. They have 2 children (who played hockey at HHS): Chelsea (HHS ‘06), Cody (HHS ‘08), and a growing group of grandchildren-future hockey players: Charlie, Cody (#2), and a soon to be granddaughter.
